After researching the Channel 4's Youth Tribes website, I have decided that my target audience will be Moshers and Grungers. The reason behind this is that different genres of Rock, especially guitar driven songs are the music of choice for the followers of these subcultures. Evidence of this, is their frequent consumption of magazines and music channels such as Kerrang, Metal Hammer and Scuzz, and their frequent consumption of franchises such as Guitar Hero and Rock Band. For my primary research I will interview members of these subcultures what they would exect to see in a Hard Rock music video.

Analysis of the Black Ice album cover by Ac Dc
This album cover displays the genre of hard rock by the dominating appearance of it. The designs look as though they represent the band’s power over the genre. The figures and shapes look like a mural or carving you might find on the wall of some ancient city, and to me this is symbolising the band withstanding the test of time, having been going strong for over 30 years now, and that no matter what happens they will last a lot longer. The album cover would appeal to the fans of Ac Dc due to the way it appears on the shelves in shops. The black in the album is smooth and shiny which helps to make the design stand out and cement the idea of ‘black ice’ and the band name is made to be raised out of the image so it leaps out at you when you look at it, and it is also smooth and shiny with an icy quality to it.

genre
The genre I have chosen is Hard Rock/Blues Rock. This encompasses bands such as Zz Top, Double Trouble, Jeff Beck, Aerosmith, Ac/Dc, Airbourne and many other great bands.
